Tacoma & Gig Harbor In-Home Tutoring
I grew up in Gig Harbor and attended the International Baccalaureate program at Henry Foss High School in Tacoma. I took calculus at age 15 and at 17 earned the highest grade in a 400-level math class at the University of Puget Sound. I won multiple state math competitions and was first in my grade at the Washington State Math Contest three consecutive years. I earned high SAT scores (790 Math, 800 Reading, 800 Writing), won a National Merit Scholarship, and received an unconditional offer to study mathematics at the University of Oxford's Jesus College.
At Oxford, I was named Thomas William Thomas Scholar (my college's largest undergraduate scholarship). While at Oxford, I was captain of the Oxford University Ultimate Frisbee team and played for the Great Britain Junior National Team at the World Championships in Finland. I hold a BA (Honours) and an MA from the University of Oxford.
After college, I returned to Washington. I worked at a private tutoring center for a year before starting Lerman Tutoring. Over the past seven years, I have helped dozens of students improve their grades and test scores.
